Ecology Teaching and Research Lab @ Swarthmore College

Working with Undergraduates Since 2001

Mission

As a professor at a four-year undergraduate institution, my research is highly synergistic with my teaching. I am committed to providing students with opportunities to integrate knowledge acquisition with the creative process of doing research.

I am very fortunate to work with colleagues who care deeply about how people learn. In my department, we operate on the principle that doing research is key to future success in science.

My current research interest has evolved from my interactions with students. In my courses, students have shown great interest to learn about the biology and functioning of soils
